          Silo Access at Cement Australia

Since November 2009, the cement powder silo at the Gladstone Plant, has become increasingly problematic.

The cause has been limited discharge due to cement lumps (formed by water leaking into the silo).

It was decided that rope access from the top of the 20,000 tonne silo would be the best way to determine if the access doors at the bottom of the silo could safely be opened.

Tane and his small team delivered a flexible, but professional, service on the first entry and also on 3 subsequent entries, into other silos.

Cairns Rope Access have delivered very good outcomes in a safe and cost effective manner.
